Electric Vehicle Charging

In addition to the credits and rebates you may use to purchase an electric vehicle (EV), you can save on your monthly electric bill when you own an EV by opting-in to National Grid’s Voluntary Time of Use (VTOU) program. You will get a preferential electricity rate at non-peak times, allowing you to charge your EV (and do other energy intensive activities) off-peak to save on your rate.

This program is only available to residential National Grid customers in the Upstate NY region.

ESTIMATED SAVINGS

Approximately $175/year (based on driving ~12,000 miles/year in your EV and primarily charging at home).

Claimed as savings on your monthly National Grid bill.
